Girls Kwik Cricket Final
The Year 5 & 6 Girls Kwik Cricket final took place on Monday 9th July at Barnsley Cricket Club, Shaw Lane. 9 schools took part in the competition and congratulations to Darton who finished as eventual winners of the event

Key Stage 2 Athletics Events
3 Athletics events took place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th July at Dorothy Hyman Stadium with 16 schools participating, bringing 19 teams to the events. Children took part in various running events such as 50m sprint, low hurdles and ostacle race and different field events including javelin, speed bounce and standing long jump in order to gain points for their schools.Congratulations to Ward Green, Brierley and Barugh Green who finished as winners of the event.

The Year 5 & 6 Boys Kwik Cricket final took place on Friday 29th June at Barnsley Cricket Club, Shaw Lane. 10 teams took part in the event who were all winners of their individual family events.Congratulations to Burton Road who finished as eventual winners of the event

Key Stage 1 & 2 Dance Competition
The Key Stage 1 & 2 Dance festival took place on Wednesday 13th June at Royston High School with 9 teams taking part from 8 schools across Barnsley. Congratulations to Birkwood who finished as eventual winners of the competition, beating Gooseacre by 1 point.

Year 4 Mini Red Tennis Final
The Year 4 mini Red Tennis Final took place on Tuesday 19th July at Barnsley Tennis Club. 7 schools took part in the event as winners of their individual family competitions. Congratulation go to St. Dominic's who finished as eventual winners of the event, beating Darton in the final.

Key Stage 2 Rounders Final
12 schools took part in the Key Stage 2 Barnsley Rounders Final which combined family winners from both the Holgate and Priory Partnerships. Congratulations to Millhouse who finished as eventual winners of the event.

2 schools took part in the first ever Barnsley Tri Golf Competition which was held at Shaw Lane

2 events took place for Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6 with around 900 children taking part in total over both the days.

8 Schools took part in the Final of the Boys Football League which was held at Barnsley Football Club on Thursday 29th March.

The Key Stage 2 Mixed Tag Rugby Final took place on Wednesday 28th March at Barnsley Rugby Club, with 17 schools representing all the SSCo Families in Barnsley.

8 Schools took part in the Final of the Girls Football League which was held at Barnsley Football Club on Tuesday 27th March.

Key Stage 2 & 3 Gymnastics Competition
16 Schools took part in the KS2 &KS3 Gymnastics Competition which was held at Kingstone Community Sports Centre on Thursday 1st March. All the children got to meet and get autographs from Beth Tweddle and also listen to her speak about her carrer so far.
Beth Tweddle at the Barnsley Gymnastics Competition
Beth Tweddle, Great Britain's most successful ever gymnast will be attending the Key Stage 2 & 3 Gymnastics competition which will be held at Kingstone High School from 1.00 - 5.45. Beth is the 2006 World Bars Champion after winning Gold in the World Championships which were held in October last year.
Primary Schools who will be at the event include Birkwood, Burton Road, Gawber, Goldthorpe, Greenacre, High View, Longcar, St. Mary's and Wellgate. The Secondary competition will be made up of teams from Darton, Edward Sheerien, Holgate, Kingstone, Kirk Balk, Penistone, Priory and Royston.

Due to bad weather, the KS2 Hockey Tournament had to be cancelled. This will be re-arranged for later in the year and we will give schools plenty of notice.

The Holgate Partnerhsip High 5 Netball Final took place on Wednesday 7th February with the 6 winners of each family competition taking part.

Boys Under 13 Inter Cricket Finalists
Teams from Priory and Holgate will be representing Barnsley in the Yorkshire Inter Cricket final which will be held at Headingley Cricket Centre from 9.30 - 4.00 on Tuesday 6th March. Good luck to both schools and hopefully they will be able to emulate the Priory team who won the competition last year.

The South Yorkshire Schools Cross Country Championships took place at Penistone Show Ground on Saturday 3rd February with children from Barnsley taking part at various age levels.

3 Schools took part in the first ever Year 9 Rugby Tournament which was held at Priory School & Sports College on Wednesday 21st February.

Gymnastics Helpers Award
British Gymnastics will be running a Gymnastics Helpers Award for those interested in helping with the running of Gymnastics Sessions.
It will be held at Holgate Sports College on Wednesday 30th May from 10.00 - 4.00.

The Priory Partnerhsip High 5 Netball Final took place on Tuesday 6th February with the winners of each family competition taking part.
5 schools took part in all and showed lots of skill and enthusiasm in what was a great event.

Priory Sports College GCSE Sports Enterprise Challenge
Sheffield Sharks v Scottish Rocks
Priory School & Sports College Year 10 GCSE boys are taking part in the Sports Enterprise Challenge. They are organsing the Basketball game between Sheffield Sharks and Scottish Rocks on 27th February at the Sheffield Hallam Arena with the Tip-Off at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from Priory School at the massively reduces price of £2.50.

The Year 3 Football Multi Skills event took place on Monday 6th November at Barnsley Football Club Academy.
Year 7 Girls Football Tournament
Congratulations to Kingstone A on winning the Girls Year 7 Football tournament at Darton High School, beating Penistone A in the final.
Year 8 & 9 Girls Football Tournament
Congratulations to Priory Sports College who won the tournament, beating Kingstone 2-1 in the final.

Walk to School Week - Monday 2nd October

'Walk to School' Week will be the from Monday 2nd - Friday 6th October
'Walk to School' is an exciting campaign asking parents, pupils and teachers to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily lives by walking to and from school whenever possible.
October is also International Walk to School Month - giving children, parents, school teachers and community leaders an opportunity to be part of a global event as they celebrate the many benefits of walking. Last year, more than 3 million walkers from around the world walked to school together for various reasons – all hoping to create communities that are safe places to walk.

It is now possible to enter both Primary and Secondary school sporting events online. This can be done through either the PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORT ONLINE ENTRY section of the webpage or the SECONDARY SCHOOL SPORT ONLINE ENTRY section.
