Key Stage 2 Gymnastics Festival

Action from the KS2 Gymnastics11 Schools took part in the annual Key Stage 2 Gymnastics festival which was held at Kingstone Community Sports Centre on Thursday 6th March. Each school brought a team of up to 15 children and completed a floor routine to music of their choice. Routines had to include a roll, a balance, a jump, a handstand or bunny hop, a cartwheel and a skill of their choice. Teams were then marked on these skills along with tempo/use of music, use of colour, team cohesion and overall impression.

The standard of the event was very high and it was obvious that children and staff had spent many long hours perfecting the routines for the big occassion. It was also great to see so many parents their supporting their children and schools and providing support for the other children who were taking part. Congratulations go to Wellgate who finshed as winners of the competition to continue on from their success of last year. However, congratulations must also be given to all the schools and children who took part and hopefully they will return next year in either the Primary or Secondary competitions. Feecback from judges on all performances can be viewed HERE

Thanks go to Kingstone for the excellent job they did of organising and hosting the event. Many thanks to Angie Roach (Kingstone SSCo) and Kingstone pupils who helped to make the event the great success that it was.
