TIME - 1.00 - 3.30 pm
COURT DIMENSIONS
- 12m x 6m - this can be a modified badminton court OR 11m x 5m sideways on a tennis court.
- Net height approx. 80cm.
Event Details
- A team is made up of 2 boys and 2 girls
- Boys are seeded 1 and 2 and likewise for girls
- A match will be made up of the following
- GAME 1 - Boy 1 v Boy 1
- GAME 2 - Girl 1 v Girl 1
- GAME 3 - Boy 2 v Boy 2
- GAME 4 - Girl 2 v Girl 2
- GAME 5 - Mixed Pair 1 v Mixed Pair 1
- GAME 6 - Mixed Pair 2 v Mixed Pair 2
- The points scored in each game will be added together for a match total which will decide who has won.
RULES
- First to seven points
- First serve will be decided at the start of each game and will then alternate after each point.
- Servers must be behind the baseline when serving
- The ball is not allowed to be bounced when serving. It must be hit straight from the hand and can be either overarm or underarm.
- The ball must bounce before being returned - if the ball is hit before bouncing, the point will be awarded to the server. However, after the initial return of serve, volleys are allowed.
- If the first serve is out or hits the net, a second serve will be allowed.
- The ball is only allowed to bounce once. If the ball bounces twice, the point is awarded to the opposing player.
