Year 7 Sportshall Athletics
7 schools and 8 teams took part in the annual Year 7 Sportshall Athletics event which was held at Athersley Recreation Centre on Tuesday 11th December. Teams were made up of 12 athletes with 6 boys and 6 girls taking part in every event to gain points for their school. Some of the events the athletes took part in included the hurdles, long jump, javelin, caber toss and shuttle run. When each team had taken part in every event, the boys and girls scores were combined to make a team score which would decide the overall winner. Congratulations go to Kingstone A who finished as eventual winners by 20pts from Holgate.
Thanks go to Athersley Recreation Centre and Edward Sheerien for hosting the event and to all the children and staff for attending and helping score on events. There is a CERTIFICATE for staff to download and alter as they wish.
