Year 8 Sportshall Details
7 schools took part in the 2nd Year 8 Sportshall Athletics event which was held at Athersley Recreation Centre on Tuesday 22nd January. Teams of 6 boys and 6 girls took part in various events such as javelin, hurdles, caber toss, vertical jump and balance in order to gain points for their schools. Congratulations go to Darton who finshed as eventual winners of the event after gaining the highest combined girls and boys score. Finshing closely behind in 2nd place were Edward Sheerien with Holgate in 3rd.
Thanks go to all the pupils and staff for taking part in the event and also to Edward Sheerien and Athersley Recreation Centre for hosting the event.
